Meeting Students' Needs Through a Variety of Programs
- Homebound/Hospitalized Instructional Program
- Alternative Telecommunications Program (ATC)
Homebound/Hospitalized Instructional Program
- Certified teachers visit medically homebound students at home or in the hospital.
- Homebound secondary students participate in teleclass from home via telephone--provided by teleclass teachers working from studios at Merrick Educational Center.
- Distance learning is available for students who need credit recovery.
- Available to any Miami-Dade County public school student who meets eligibility criteria.
Community Based Program
- Students with severe disabilities who are also homebound receive instructional services in their home, provided by caring teachers.
School Based Program
- Students with severe disabilities attend school at Merrick Educational Center in Coral Gables.
Alternative Telecommunications Program (ATC)
- Students who have been assigned to ATC by the M-DCPS Division of Alternative Education participate in teleclass from home via telephone.
- Provided by ATC teachers working from studios at Merrick Educational Center.
